E07 — Race Under Three Moons
Storyboard. Shot-by-shot.
Source: episodes/e07.md + scroll.md. Runtime: 4:00. Frames: 42.
Episode at a glance
The kinetic crown of Season 1. Up to E06 the show has breathed on long stills, slow tides, theatrical pauses. E07 breaks form on purpose. Rex's biome is the only one that moves first and asks Dzino to catch up. The body is not a metaphor here — it is the chord-bearer. Every previous shard sat into Dzino as a tone or weight. This one arrives as rhythm, because his lungs found it before his brain did.
Three palettes overlap every frame — pink, ice-blue, gold moonlight over peach-cream sand. Most colorful biome of the season; it should look almost unbelievable on the first frame, then earn the saturation by the time Voice 7 locks in. Rex's leitmotif (four-on-the-floor drum kit, fun, never aggressive) builds across the sandboarding montage and fades under the heartbeat at the end — the body learning to be its own metronome.
The sandboarding sequence is where this episode lands or doesn't. Three attempts, escalating mastery, escalating percussion: tumble → tumble → clean three-turn carve. Voice 7 — the heartbeat thud — drops exactly on the third turn, not before. Treat F32 like a downbeat; everything is engineered toward it. The shard arrives not as a glow but as a kick drum that has learned it lives inside a chest.
Five beats follow the season formula, but the gift beat eats ~90s of montage. Earn it.

SCENE 8.1 — THE DUNES [0:00 – 0:30]
F1 — Cold open horizon
- Composition. Extreme wide, pure horizon. Three moons stacked diagonally: warm pink (low-right, large), ice blue (mid-center), gold (high-left, smallest). No character. 9:16; moons fill upper third.
- Action. Static. A single voxel grain drifts left to right at the bottom edge, catching all three moonlights as it tumbles.
- Lighting & palette. Triple-cast shadows on dune crests — each moon throws a colored shadow, so ridges fan pink/blue/gold from a single peak. Sky indigo
#2A1F5Eto dusk-violet. - Sound cue. Wind. Faint drum-kit pulse begins under it — so quiet you can't tell if it's diegetic.
- AI-gen prompt. Voxel-art establishing wide, crystalline desert at night, three differently-colored moons (warm pink low-right, ice blue mid-center, gold high-left), peach-cream sand glittering grain by grain, indigo sky, no characters.
- Notes. Hold 3s before motion. The drum should only be recognizable on rewatch.
F2 — Sand macro
- Composition. Macro on dune surface. Each grain a discrete voxel cube refracting one of the three moon colors.
- Action. Light moves across the grains as a slow breeze rolls a wave.
- Lighting & palette. Pink/blue/gold prismatic glints on peach-cream base. Almost over-saturated — earn it later.
- Sound cue. Grain-on-grain crystal hush, tiny windchimes.
- AI-gen prompt. Macro voxel sand grains glittering individually under three colored moons, prismatic refractions on peach-cream cubes, dreamy.
- Notes. Visual signature of the biome. Lock as reference plate for every dune frame.
F3 — Dzino crests, silhouette
- Composition. Wide, low angle. Camera at the dune's foot looking up. Tiny indigo silhouette crests from behind, only outline visible, orange crown catching gold.
- Action. Dzino stops the instant the horizon reveals itself. Head tilts up.
- Lighting & palette. Backlit. Crown rim-lit gold, body indigo
#4F46E5. - Sound cue. Drum pulse still sub-threshold. One Dzino chirp — the SoundDNA signature.
- AI-gen prompt. Tiny voxel character silhouetted on crystalline dune crest, three colored moons behind, orange crown rim-lit, indigo body, low angle, awe.
- Notes. Pilot-formula cold open beat. Hold the chirp clean.
F4 — POV reveal of dunes-to-forever
- Composition. Over-the-shoulder. Dunes recede in waves to a distant ridge. The faint star sits low above the ridge — noticeably brighter than in E06.
- Action. Camera pushes forward inches as Dzino takes a half-step.
- Lighting & palette. Triple-moon wash. Three overlapping shadow-stripes from his body fan forward — pink, blue, gold.
- Sound cue. Drum pulse rises one notch. Faint kick, no snare.
- AI-gen prompt. Over-shoulder voxel POV across crystal dunes to a distant ridge, faint pulsing star above ridge, three triple-cast colored shadows fanning forward, indigo and peach-cream.
- Notes. The triple-shadow gimmick recurs in every dune frame. It is the biome's tell.
SCENE 8.2 — REX [0:30 – 1:30]
F5 — Crunch: 103!
- Composition. Mid-shot, side profile. Rex on his back at the next dune's base, knees bent, paws behind sweatband, mid-crunch. Sand voxels fly off elbows.
- Action. Crunch up. Jaw open. Tongue out.
- Lighting & palette. Pink on cheek, ice-blue on sweatband, gold on shorts. Literally tinted by all three moons.
- Sound cue. REX (ALL CAPS): "103!" Drum machine adds snare on the beat.
- AI-gen prompt. Voxel-art energetic dog athlete mid-crunch in peach-cream desert sand, sweatband, training shorts, three-colored moon lighting, exaggerated cartoon energy.
- Notes. ALL CAPS = shouted. Counting is part of the leitmotif.
F6 — Crunch: 104!
- Composition. Match-cut, slightly tighter. Rex mid-recline, abs straining under fur.
- Action. Down phase. Sand puffs around his back.
- Lighting & palette. As F5; sand puff catches all three moonlights — a tiny prism cloud.
- Sound cue. REX: "104!" Snare. Hi-hat barely enters.
- AI-gen prompt. Same voxel dog athlete reclining phase of crunch, sand puff prismatic with pink/blue/gold light.
- Notes. Match-cut to F5 sells the count visually as a metronome.
F7 — 105! HI TINY.
- Composition. Pull to two-shot. Dzino now in frame at the crest behind Rex, watching wordlessly.
- Action. Rex crunches to "105!", spots Dzino, waves with one paw without breaking form.
- Lighting & palette. Triple shadows now interact — Dzino casts three, Rex casts three, overlapping into six soft bands.
- Sound cue. REX: "105! HI TINY. ARE YOU WARMED UP?" Drum kit at full pulse, four-on-the-floor.
- AI-gen prompt. Voxel two-shot, energetic dog mid-crunch waves at tiny indigo voxel character on dune crest, six overlapping pink/blue/gold shadows in sand, comic-warm.
- Notes. First fourth-wall break. Comic, never sarcastic.
F8 — Springs to feet
- Composition. Mid-shot. Rex bouncing supine-to-standing in a single voxel pop — three sub-frames of motion blur compressed.
- Action. Whole body lifts and lands. No transition. Voxel physics-defying.
- Lighting & palette. Sand voxels arc up around him in a pink/blue/gold halo.
- Sound cue. Bass thud on landing. Rex's leitmotif kicks in fully — full drum machine.
- AI-gen prompt. Voxel dog athlete springing from supine to standing in one motion-blur pop, halo of sand voxels glittering pink-blue-gold.
- Notes. The visual joke: gravity does not apply to Rex. It will, very much, to Dzino in F17. Hold the contrast.
F9 — Stretch arm-across-chest
- Composition. Mid-shot, slight low angle. Rex pulls one paw across his chest, textbook athlete stretch.
- Action. Hold. Mouth open, tongue lolling. Tail wags once.
- Lighting & palette. Gold on teeth, pink on tongue, ice-blue on sweatband.
- Sound cue. Tail-wag sells as a tom hit.
- AI-gen prompt. Voxel dog athlete textbook arm-across-chest stretch, sweatband, training shorts, tongue out, three-moon lighting.
- Notes. Reference frame for any S1-finale Rex appearance.
F10 — Points at the ridge
- Composition. Wide two-shot. Rex's paw extended frame-right, pointing across the dunes. Dzino tiny on the left, following the gesture. Distant ridge visibly far — a thin dark line under the gold moon.
- Action. Rex holds the point. Dzino's head turns slowly.
- Lighting & palette. The faint star visible just above the ridge, pulsing once.
- Sound cue. REX: "Race me to that ridge." Drum drops to half-time under the line.
- AI-gen prompt. Wide voxel two-shot, dog athlete pointing across crystal dunes to distant dark ridge, tiny indigo voxel character following the gesture, faint star above ridge, three moons.
- Notes. Episode thumbnail.
F11 — Dzino looks back
- Composition. Tight on Dzino. Cream face, indigo body, crown gold-lit. Eyes wide — I have never done this.
- Action. Slow blink. Tiny chirp.
- Lighting & palette. Ice-blue does the modeling, pink fills the shadow side.
- Sound cue. Drum softens. One chirp.
- AI-gen prompt. Tight voxel character close-up, indigo body, cream face, orange crown, wide-eyed, ice-blue and pink moonlight modeling, hesitant.
- Notes. First stillness of the episode. Earns the kinetics that follow.
SCENE 8.3 — THE DARE [1:00 – 1:30]
F12 — Rex grins: I didn't either
- Composition. Mid-shot. Rex crouched to Dzino's eye level — small, kind detail.
- Action. Big toothy voxel grin. Wink.
- Lighting & palette. Three moons frame his head as a halo of stripes.
- Sound cue. REX (gentler): "I didn't either. That's the whole thing." Drum pauses on "thing" — one beat rest.
- AI-gen prompt. Voxel dog athlete crouched to small character's eye level, big kind grin, wink, three-moon halo, warm.
- Notes. Thesis line. Tone: a dad pretending to be a coach. Never patronizing.
F13 — Tiny step forward
- Composition. Low angle on Dzino's foot taking a single voxel step. Foot leaves a perfect cube-print.
- Action. One step. Sand voxels under his foot compress and glitter.
- Lighting & palette. Cream sand around the indigo foot, cube-print catching all three colors.
- Sound cue. Soft crunch. Drum resumes.
- AI-gen prompt. Macro voxel foot step into peach-cream desert sand, perfect cube-shaped footprint, prismatic edge glitter.
- Notes. First commitment to the body.
F14 — Wide: starting line
- Composition. Symmetric wide. Both at the base of the long dune line to the ridge. Rex right in athletic stance, Dzino left in small uncertain stance.
- Action. Hold. Two breaths.
- Lighting & palette. Triple shadows fan forward from both — twelve bands of pink/blue/gold pointing at the ridge.
- Sound cue. Drum builds. Rex inhales audibly.
- AI-gen prompt. Symmetric voxel wide, energetic dog and tiny indigo character at start of long dune route, twelve overlapping colored shadows pointing forward, three moons.
- Notes. Chapter card without text.
F15 — Rex: GO!
- Composition. Tight on Rex's mouth, mid-bark.
- Action. Single sharp bark.
- Lighting & palette. All three moon-tints inside the open mouth.
- Sound cue. Bark = downbeat. Drum kicks the montage tempo.
- AI-gen prompt. Tight voxel dog mouth mid-bark, all three moonlight tints inside the open mouth.
- Notes. Montage start button. Cut hard from here.
F16 — Dzino panics, pumps tiny legs
- Composition. Side-profile mid-shot. Sprinting (for him), little voxel arms pumping, crown wobbling.
- Action. Three frames of running cycle, comically out of sync.
- Lighting & palette. Motion blur in three colors — pink, blue, gold streak lines trailing.
- Sound cue. Snare on every step. Hi-hat 16ths.
- AI-gen prompt. Side profile voxel character sprinting, tiny arms pumping, orange crown wobbling, pink/blue/gold motion blur trails, comic determination.
- Notes. Earnest, never mocking. Audience roots, doesn't laugh at.
SCENE 8.4 — SANDBOARDING MONTAGE [1:30 – 3:00]
Kinetic spine. Seventeen frames. Three attempts, escalating mastery, escalating percussion.
F17 — Face-plant
- Composition. Mid, low angle. Dzino mid-fall, body horizontal, voxel-feet up.
- Action. Pure face-first dive into the dune. Sand voxels geyser upward.
- Lighting & palette. Geyser refracts all three moons into a tiny rainbow.
- Sound cue. Soft fwumph. Drum doesn't stop for the gag.
- AI-gen prompt. Voxel character mid-faceplant into peach-cream desert sand, feet up, prismatic pink-blue-gold sand geyser, comic but tender.
- Notes. No exaggerated squash — gravity wins.
F18 — Buried, crown sticking up
- Composition. Macro on the sand. Only the orange crown and one ear-twitch above the surface.
- Action. Hold. One small puff from where his nose must be.
- Lighting & palette. Three moons backlight the crown — it glows like a tiny lantern.
- Sound cue. Muffled chirp.
- AI-gen prompt. Voxel orange crown sticking up out of peach-cream sand, three moons backlighting, single sand puff.
- Notes. Season-best comic still.
F19 — Rex laughs, helps up
- Composition. Mid-shot. Rex squatting beside the buried Dzino, both paws under his armpits, lifting.
- Action. Laughing — head back, mouth open — but the eyes are warm. Pulls Dzino up smooth.
- Lighting & palette. Pink on Rex's laugh, gold on Dzino's emerging face.
- Sound cue. Single woofing bark, layered as a cymbal-bell.
- AI-gen prompt. Voxel dog athlete laughing kindly, lifting tiny sand-covered indigo character out of dune by armpits, warm.
- Notes. The kindness frame. If Rex reads as mocking here, recut. Reference: a dad watching a kid fall off a bike.
F20 — Two voxel sandboards
- Composition. Mid-shot of half-buried stash. Two pixel-art surfboards (bigger for Rex, tiny for Dzino) with fins poking out.
- Action. Rex's paw enters and yanks both boards up in one motion.
- Lighting & palette. Boards painted in biome tints — Rex's gold-and-pink, Dzino's indigo-and-cream. Moon glints off wax.
- Sound cue. Wood-thunk as boards hit the surface. Tempo picks up.
- AI-gen prompt. Two pixel-art voxel sandboards half-buried in glittering desert, paw pulling them up, gold-pink and indigo-cream board art, three moons overhead.
- Notes. Boards must read at speed; they recur in three more frames.
F21 — Drop-in lip
- Composition. Wide hero. Both at the lip of a steep dune, boards under feet. Camera over their shoulders down a near-vertical wall to a distant valley floor.
- Action. Both lean forward. Rex's tail wags once. Dzino's knees buckle.
- Lighting & palette. Gold ahead, pink and blue side-cast. Deep shadow at the bottom — an inviting void.
- Sound cue. Drum holds breath. One bar of silence except wind.
- AI-gen prompt. Voxel hero shot, two characters at edge of steep glittering desert dune, boards under feet, looking down vertical sand wall, three moons, dramatic.
- Notes. Hold 1.5s. The pause is the joke and the dread.
F22 — Dzino tumbles (attempt 1)
- Composition. Wide trailing. Sand wall fills frame. Dzino a tumbling indigo blur, board flying separately.
- Action. Voxel ragdoll cartwheel — three full rotations.
- Lighting & palette. Each rotation catches a different moon-color: pink, blue, gold, cycling.
- Sound cue. Tom-tom rolls per rotation. Beat continues underneath.
- AI-gen prompt. Voxel character cartwheeling down steep desert dune, indigo body tumbling, board separated mid-air, three-moon color rotation per spin, comic.
- Notes. Voxel forgiveness — bouncy, not crunchy.
F23 — Rex zigzags (attempt 1)
- Composition. Same wide trailing, parallel composition. Rex carving a clean S down the wall.
- Action. Effortless three-turn carve. Sand fans both directions per turn.
- Lighting & palette. Each turn throws a triple-color spray.
- Sound cue. Surf-style sand-shush. Full beat with cowbell.
- AI-gen prompt. Voxel dog athlete carving clean S-curve down steep desert dune on pixel-art board, triple-colored sand sprays per turn, three moons.
- Notes. Beauty shot for Rex. Establishes what good looks like.
F24 — Both at bottom, tangled
- Composition. Mid-shot. Rex standing at the valley floor, board under arm. Dzino arrives in slow-motion roll, comes to rest at his feet.
- Action. Dzino's crown wobbles to a stop. Rex grins down.
- Lighting & palette. Valley floor washed in all three moonlights — most colorful frame yet.
- Sound cue. Bass thump on the stop. Rex chuckles.
- AI-gen prompt. Voxel valley floor, dog athlete with board, tiny indigo character coming to a tumbling rest at his feet, all three moonlights washing the sand.
- Notes. Body comedy, not failure — process.
F25 — Climb back up
- Composition. Side-profile silhouettes against the dune. Both trudging up, boards on shoulders.
- Action. Slow climb. Sand slides under each step.
- Lighting & palette. Backlit, deep silhouettes. Crown catches gold.
- Sound cue. Drum continues, pulse only — kick-snare, no fills.
- AI-gen prompt. Side-profile voxel silhouettes of dog and tiny character climbing dune with sandboards on shoulders, three moons backlight.
- Notes. Compress. ~1.2s.
F26 — Drop-in (attempt 2)
- Composition. Lip again, mirrored — camera over Dzino's shoulder this time. Rex already gone in the foreground.
- Action. Dzino takes the drop alone. Knees less buckled.
- Lighting & palette. Crown now tilted forward — determination read by silhouette.
- Sound cue. Drum adds a tambourine layer — second percussion voice.
- AI-gen prompt. Over-shoulder voxel POV at edge of steep desert dune, board under feet, second attempt, less hesitant, three moons.
- Notes. Mirror of F21 tells audience: same place, different him.
F27 — Halfway carve (attempt 2)
- Composition. Side trailing. Mid-dune, board under feet, half a wobbly turn underway.
- Action. First successful weight-shift. Faint S, then back foot slips.
- Lighting & palette. Sand-spray smaller than Rex's, but it's there. Pink-blue-gold flecks.
- Sound cue. Sand-shush, half-volume. Drum clean.
- AI-gen prompt. Voxel character mid-carve halfway down desert dune, faint S-curve, small triple-color sand spray, board under feet, hopeful.
- Notes. The almost. Critical for the third-attempt payoff.
F28 — Tumble (attempt 2 fails)
- Composition. Tight. Back foot slips. He goes over forward. Board flips up.
- Action. Single forward-roll — one rotation, not three. Better failure.
- Lighting & palette. Brief gold-flash off the board catching the high moon.
- Sound cue. Fwumph, softer than F17. Drum holds.
- AI-gen prompt. Voxel character single-rotation forward tumble down desert dune, board flipping up, gold moon flash, less violent than first fall.
- Notes. Visual progress through better falls.
F29 — Rex cheering from the bottom
- Composition. Wide. Rex small in foreground, both arms in voxel goal-post, looking up the dune.
- Action. Both fists in the air. Tail wagging visibly.
- Lighting & palette. All three moons behind him — haloed.
- Sound cue. REX: "ALMOST! GO AGAIN!" Drum adds claps off-beat — third percussion voice.
- AI-gen prompt. Voxel dog athlete fists-in-air cheering at base of glittering desert dune, three moons haloing him, tail wag.
- Notes. Affirming, loud, opposite of pressure.
F30 — The third climb
- Composition. Side, closer than F25. Just Dzino, board on shoulder. Heavier breathing visible — chest puffs in, out.
- Action. Slow trudge, determined. Footprints now perfect cubes.
- Lighting & palette. Peach-cream sand reads warmer — the biome itself rooting for him.
- Sound cue. Breathing audible over the drum for the first time. The breath is the future heartbeat finding itself.
- AI-gen prompt. Side voxel of tiny indigo character climbing desert dune alone with sandboard, breathing visibly, three moons.
- Notes. Where the body teaches the chest a rhythm.
F31 — Drop-in (attempt 3, locked-in)
- Composition. Hero close-up on Dzino's face at the lip. Crown perfectly forward. Eyes narrowed.
- Action. One held breath. He drops.
- Lighting & palette. Pink catches a single bead of voxel-sweat at his brow.
- Sound cue. Drum drops to half-time on the held breath. The beat is waiting.
- AI-gen prompt. Hero close-up voxel face at edge of dune, crown forward, focused, single voxel sweat bead, pink-blue-gold lighting.
- Notes. Audience holds breath with him. Pause 0.8s.
F32 — THE THREE-TURN CARVE
- Composition. Wide trailing — most ambitious shot of the season. Three full carving turns, clean. Sand fans on each turn — first pink, second ice-blue, third gold.
- Action. Voxel arc traces left, right, left. Each turn larger and more committed.
- Lighting & palette. Each spray matches a specific moon. Choreographed: pink turn under pink moon's angle, blue under blue, gold under gold. The biome conspires with him.
- Sound cue. Turn 1 — kick adds. Turn 2 — snare adds. Turn 3 — VOICE 7 LANDS: a deep heartbeat thud joins the chord. Drum opens up briefly, lets the heartbeat drop in, returns at full strength.
- AI-gen prompt. Wide trailing voxel shot, indigo character carving three perfect turns down crystalline desert dune, three colored sand sprays (pink, blue, gold) one per turn matched to overhead moons, kinetic, triumphant.
- Notes. THE FRAME OF THE EPISODE. Three sub-keyframes; do not collapse. Voice 7 syncs exactly to the third spray. The downbeat the season points at.
F33 — Bottom: breathing heavy, no fall
- Composition. Tight. Dzino still on the board at the valley floor. Chest visibly rising and falling. No fall.
- Action. Looks up. Cream face splits into a tiny voxel grin — first real grin of the episode.
- Lighting & palette. All three moons full-tint his face. He is colored by the biome at last.
- Sound cue. Heavy voxel breathing. Heartbeat under the drum, sub-bass. Full kit.
- AI-gen prompt. Tight voxel character on sandboard at valley floor, chest rising and falling, tiny grin, three-moon full lighting, triumphant calm.
- Notes. Alive in his body for the first time. Hold 1.5s.
SCENE 8.5 — RIDGE & SHARD [3:00 – 3:30]
F34 — Climb together to the ridge
- Composition. Wide trailing from low. Both silhouetted, climbing the long final slope side-by-side.
- Action. Steady. Rex matches Dzino's pace deliberately — does not outpace him.
- Lighting & palette. Three moons lower now — they're descending. Ridge sharply gold-edged.
- Sound cue. Drum relaxes to pulse. Heartbeat steady underneath.
- AI-gen prompt. Wide voxel silhouettes of dog athlete and tiny indigo character climbing final ridge side-by-side, three setting moons, gold-edged ridge.
- Notes. Pace deliberately slow — kinetic peak past, awe starting.
F35 — Ridge view: faint star is brightest
- Composition. Hero summit. Both crest the ridge. Beyond them, the night sky — and the faint star is undeniably the brightest thing in it. Brighter than any moon.
- Action. Both stop. Dzino takes one step ahead of Rex.
- Lighting & palette. Star casts its own faint cream light onto Dzino's face. First time the star — not a moon — dominates his lighting.
- Sound cue. Drum thins to kick + heartbeat. Chord now seven voices, audibly thicker than any previous episode.
- AI-gen prompt. Voxel hero summit, two characters cresting ridge under three setting moons, faint star above brightest in sky, cream light on indigo character's face, awe.
- Notes. Pure season payoff. The star: "one pixel brighter" each ep — here, brightest.
F36 — Body shard arrives
- Composition. Mid-shot on Dzino's chest. A faint indigo glow rises from his sternum, pulsing with his breathing.
- Action. The shard — voxel-shaped, a small heart — emerges from the glow and clicks into his chest. His breath becomes its pulse.
- Lighting & palette. Indigo glow with peach-cream halo. Three moonlight tints reflected in shard facets.
- Sound cue. Heartbeat thud locks in as Voice 7. Drum fades 50%.
- AI-gen prompt. Macro voxel character chest, indigo heart-shaped shard pulsing with breath rhythm, three-moonlight reflections in shard facets, peach-cream halo.
- Notes. Shard pulse must visually match audio heartbeat. Sync tight.
F37 — High-five between voxel paws
- Composition. Tight on the meeting paws. Rex's larger gold-pink paw, Dzino's smaller indigo paw. Mid-slap.
- Action. Contact. A single voxel spark.
- Lighting & palette. Spark catches all three moons. Rex's grin visible at the top edge of frame.
- Sound cue. Slap. Single satisfied bark layered as a cymbal hit.
- AI-gen prompt. Tight voxel paws mid-high-five, gold-pink dog paw and indigo small paw, single triple-colored spark at contact, dog grin top edge.
- Notes. Most "Animal Crossing" frame of the episode. Earnest joy, no irony.
SCENE 8.6 — GOODBYE + ONWARD [3:30 – 4:00]
F38 — Rex's reveal line
- Composition. Mid two-shot at the ridge. Rex turned three-quarters to camera, Dzino looking at him.
- Action. Grin softens. Eyes warm. One paw on Dzino's shoulder.
- Lighting & palette. Pink moon now low and large behind, halving the frame. Gold already setting on the horizon.
- Sound cue. REX (quiet — his only quiet line): "I was never trying to beat you. That would've ruined the fun." Drum fades to a whisper. Heartbeat audible.
- AI-gen prompt. Voxel mid two-shot at ridge, dog athlete with paw on small character's shoulder, soft warm grin, large pink setting moon behind, gold moon on horizon.
- Notes. Episode's emotional thesis. Rex's archetype lands here. Direct VO, not theatrical.
F39 — Sprints back the way they came
- Composition. Wide tracking from behind Dzino's shoulder. Rex already mid-sprint, throwing sand voxels behind him as he flies down the dunes the way they came.
- Action. Three sub-frames of motion blur. By the third, gone — only a triple-colored sand trail.
- Lighting & palette. Sand trail in pink/blue/gold streak.
- Sound cue. Drum kit one last big fill, then cut to silence except heartbeat.
- AI-gen prompt. Wide voxel tracking shot from behind small character, dog athlete sprinting full speed away across dunes, motion blur trail in pink-blue-gold sand, three setting moons.
- Notes. Gone in seconds. Motion-blur this hard — speed is part of the love.
F40 — Sits alone on the ridge
- Composition. Wide. Tiny indigo character cross-legged on ridge crest, dead-center, dwarfed by sky. Three moons set at three different points on the horizon.
- Action. Sits. Holds.
- Lighting & palette. Star above pulses once, in cream. Moons low and dim — leaving.
- Sound cue. Drum gone. Only heartbeat. Just under it, the seven-voice chord begins to be audible — the heartbeat is the floor it sits on.
- AI-gen prompt. Wide voxel of tiny indigo character sitting cross-legged alone on ridge under three setting moons, faint star brightest above, awe and stillness.
- Notes. The come-down. Echoes Bruno's stillness from E05 — but earned by motion, not given.
F41 — Paw on chest
- Composition. Tight on Dzino's small paw resting on the indigo shard glow at his chest.
- Action. Paw places, holds. The glow under it pulses once.
- Lighting & palette. Indigo glow filtered through cream voxel paw. Three-moonlight on his shoulders, star's cream on his face.
- Sound cue. Heartbeat thud, perfectly sync'd to the glow's pulse.
- AI-gen prompt. Macro voxel paw resting on glowing indigo shard at chest, single pulse synced to heartbeat, cream and three-moon lighting.
- Notes. Rhymes E00's "single indigo pixel ignites in his chest." That was birth-pulse. This is earned-pulse.
F42 — Star pulses with heartbeat
- Composition. Wide and rising — camera slowly pulls up and back. Three moons half-set. Faint star above pulses once, twice, three times in sync with the heartbeat thud.
- Action. Camera rise. Hold on the star. One final pulse. Title-card-ready negative space at top.
- Lighting & palette. Sky deepens to indigo. Sand goes dim. The star is the warmest thing in frame.
- Sound cue. Just the heartbeat under the seven-voice chord. The chord almost resolves but holds back its final voices. Five more to come.
- AI-gen prompt. Wide rising voxel shot, tiny indigo character on ridge, three half-set moons, faint star pulsing brightest in indigo sky, peaceful resolution, season-arc moment.
- Notes. Closing image. Mirror this composition in E12 — Rex returning at full sprint into a similar wide frame.
Style anchors needed
Reference plates that must exist before any AI generation pass — without them the biome will drift by frame 10:
- Three-moon biome plate. Definitive painting of the dunes with the triple-shadow rule and prismatic grain texture demonstrated. Anchor for every dune frame.
- Rex character sheet. Mid-stretch reference, sweatband + training shorts canonical, three-color tinting test. At least four poses (crunch, spring, point, sprint).
- Dzino-on-board reference. Clean voxel image of Dzino atop the indigo-and-cream sandboard, showing scale to the board and to Rex. Without this, the carve frames produce inconsistent board geometry.
- The carve-spray triptych. Three reference paintings — one each of pink-spray, blue-spray, gold-spray — to lock the per-turn color rule for F32. The whole episode points at F32; if only one frame is hand-finished, finish F32.
- Heart-shape Body shard. Voxel-art reference for the shard in pre-arrival glow and post-clicked-in pulse states.
- Sand-puff prism FX. Reusable particle reference — appears in F1, F2, F6, F8, F17, F19, F22, F23, F32. Codify once, reuse.
Production-demand callout: the sandboarding sequence
Frames F17–F33 are the production-demanding heart of the episode — and arguably of the season:
- Three distinct carving outcomes (tumble / tumble / clean) with progressively better failures. AI tools handle "skill increase" poorly when given a single prompt; each frame must be generated independently with explicit progress beats, not as a single "montage" prompt.
- Per-turn color choreography in F32. The only frame in the season requiring three precisely-timed, color-matched sprays in a single ~3s clip. Hand-paint at minimum the three sand-spray keyframes; do not trust generation alone.
- Drum-kit-to-heartbeat handoff F32 → F36. Sound design must lock with picture for Voice 7 to land emotionally. Score to picture, not the other way around.
- Body-state continuity. Dzino's chest visibly changes from F30 onward — he becomes a body that breathes. AI tools will not preserve this without explicit per-frame prompting and reference.
Standard 2–4s clip length elsewhere; F32 deserves a longer single-take generation (4–6s) plus more compositing passes. Budget accordingly.
The body learns rhythm by failing it three times. The audience learns Voice 7 the same way — by waiting for it. Don't shortcut F22, F27, or F32. They are the chord.
Storyboard draft 1 — E07. Ready for director's pass.
