E10 — The Library of a Thousand Stories
Runtime: 3:30 Logline: You don't have to solve them. You just have to be near them. Cast: Dzino. Biscuit — therapy dog, soft eyes, slow tail, no collar. Location: A library where the shelves rearrange themselves to find the book you need. Shard: Trials (Relationships).
Scene 11.1 — Approach [00:00 – 00:30]
DZINO approaches a library glimpsed through trees. Through the windows, the shelves are visibly rearranging themselves — books sliding out of one shelf, drifting through the air, settling into another. From outside, it looks like the library is breathing.
Sound. A solo cello tuning. Wood on wood — books moving. AI prompt. Wide establishing: voxel library through trees, shelves rearranging in time-lapse glimpsed through windows.
Scene 11.2 — Biscuit at the door [00:30 – 01:00]
BISCUIT sits at the open door, tail moving slowly. Doesn't speak. Doesn't need to. Stands when DZINO arrives. Turns. Leads him in.
Sound. Cello holds a note. AI prompt. Two-shot: therapy dog at library door, soft eyes, no collar, slow tail.
Scene 11.3 — The book [01:00 – 02:30]
The shelves freeze the moment DZINO enters. From a high shelf, one book floats down on its own. BISCUIT catches it gently in his mouth. Places it on a wooden reading table.
The cover, in cream serif on indigo cloth: "Things you will be asked."
DZINO opens it.
MONTAGE OF PAGES. Each page is a silhouette — soft-edged, faceless, but human-feeling. Page after page, in low-lit composition: a silhouette weeping at a kitchen table. A silhouette staring at a phone. A silhouette holding another silhouette who isn't moving. A silhouette alone in a hospital. A silhouette laughing in a way that isn't laughing.
DZINO doesn't look away. The pages turn at the speed of his looking — never faster.
BISCUIT does not try to make him feel better. BISCUIT just sits beside him. After the book runs out of pages, it closes itself.
The shard Trials sits on top of it — heavy, not glowing, the shape of a small dark stone.
BISCUIT rests his head on DZINO's shoulder. Then nudges the stone toward him.
Sound. Solo cello throughout the page-turn montage. No chiptune. The cello carries the weight. AI prompts.
- Insert: book floating from high shelf, dog catching gently in mouth.
- Cover: indigo cloth book, cream serif Slovak text.
- Page-turn montage: silhouette portraits — kitchen table, phone, hospital, hollow laugh.
- Shard: dull stone, no glow, heavy looking.
Scene 11.4 — Biscuit speaks [02:30 – 03:30]
DZINO picks up the stone. It is heavier than any of the previous shards. It does not click into his chest with light — it settles into him, with weight. Voice 10 arrives — a low, sustained cello note that doesn't resolve.
BISCUIT speaks. First and only time in the season.
BISCUIT (very quiet) "You don't have to solve them. You just have to be near them. You taught me that."
The shelves begin to move again behind them.
DZINO bows. BISCUIT presses his forehead briefly against DZINO's — long, steady, like a son to a father he hasn't seen in centuries. They part. DZINO walks out, the stone settled in him.
Sound. Cello sustains. The chord — now ten voices including the rest — has changed in texture. It is no longer just bright. AI prompts.
- Hero: dog's head against voxel character's forehead, brief.
- Wide pull-out: shelves resuming their dance behind them.
- Closing: Dzino walking out of the library, weight in his step.
